Tire Selection which tire size for hilly terrain?

Greetings all - i am looking at a few 4x4 tractors in the 30 hp range to purchase. I have many hours operating Case and JD commercial tractors on our 6 acres and even some hours on an old Ford farm tractor.
I looked at a friends Lenar 274-1 that he wants to sell. He said the tall narrow tires are not stable on hills. We have a mix of hills and flat terrain. Is this a better choice for hills?=http://aztractorsales.com/usedkubota2650tractorforsale.php

What can you tell me about tire size in regard to stability on hills? Can you put fatter tires on these?

Sure, you can put fatter tires on your tractor. No problem.

My 1964 MF135 diesel has 18.4-16 rears loaded 2/3 full of water. Rims are 16 inch.

The front axle spindles are shorter than normal to keep the tractor level.

Tires like this are available at most stores that handle ag tires. Typical use for this size tire is on farm equipment like combines and farm fertilizer spreader trucks that need high flotation tires to work in soft soil.
