I am looking to buy a Kubota l3200 , I will be using it on several different kinds of ground, mowing grass and moving dirt in hilly woodlands, do I need AG tires or can I get by with industrial tires?

Mowing grass is fine with industrials. Moving dirt on hills in woods I would want ag tires for sure.

Industrial tires give a lot of spinning ability. Ag gives a lot of traction ability.

Tractors aren't great mowers for your lawn. Do the right thing the first time and get a mower for the lawn and ags on your tractor. You will end up there eventually anyways.......

How much lawn and how much dirt? I have a 3 point finish mower and have R-4 Industrial tires on a midsized compact and it works fine. Same with moving dirt with this. For moving dirt I have loaded tires and a ballast box. For me it is the best of both worlds.

Ag tires may help move dirt more but will be hard on a decent lawn.

On an L3200 the Industrial rims will not be adjustable, but they are wider to begin with than the AG's. Keep in mind the majority of compact tractors are sold with Industrials. They are easier on grass (less destructive) and they are tougher for loader work and stand up to sharp rocks, and stobbs better than AG's. AG's are going to give better traction in most all conditions. Everything in life is a compromise. My last 4 tractors have all worn Industrials.

Suggestions have much to do with ancillary considerations. For instance, loaded industrials create a different tractor than when non filled (traction wise). Any grass stuff at all would abate the considerations for ags unless you are cutting long grass in a field otherwise a manicured lawn will get mucked up in short order with ags. If your location of "ms" means Mississippi, then snow should not be worrisome but mud could be. A set of chains will cure a lot of woes concerning industrials and their short falls in the sticky stuff.and you would not bring your tractor on the lawn in wet season anyway. The only ags I have seen that do not tear up a lawn are the radials which are about 3 times the price of regular bias ply tires. In your description, industrials are the way to go in my opinion.

Thanks for all the info, I like the look of the tractor with Ind tires and I think I can work with then fine here. The chain ideal sounds good thanks
