I need help in choosing between a 2007 JD 3203 w/fel and box scraper for $16,000, or a 2004 JD 4310 230hrs w/fel and qa forks, e-hydro for $16,900. I will be doing average loader work and mostly using the box blade/brush hog to clear woods. The new dealer is giving me a great price for my trade (JD2210) and just over his cost on the 3203. The other dealer is about $2000 less for the trade and is firm on the cost of the 4310. Thanks in advance for any advise.

I'd go for the 4310...more hydraulic capacity, 32 Eng HP and 28 @ the PTO.
I really like the 43xx series...nice machines!

But mainly, the 3203 does not have off seat PTO operation (without over riding a safety switch or maybe putting weight on the seat. I don't use that function often, but if I want to drive a chipper, generator or other offseat implement, I think the machine should be able to do it.

Andy man, Welcome to the board. With your choices and prices you can't go wrong on either tractor. Drive both, and choose the one that fits yiur build/comfort level. It's kind of a ....heads you win,... tails you win! Send pics. We luv pictures and crayons!! Stay Safe

Thanks DO, It's good to be back (had to take a leave of absence since strawberry shortcake was born) I'm leaning towards the 4310. However, it looks like its been rode hard and put away wet. I know 230 hrs is not alot for a three year old machine but... Anyway, I might try to sell mine or work on the other dealer to move up his offer.

I like the 'more tractor' option just like roy jackson.

The 230hrs is nothing as long as it wasn't abused.

it's just now getting out of diapers and into training pants at that amount of time..

Uh....Why not BOTH of 'em? ;)

I'd cast my vote for the 4310 if all is well. In a few months' even the new one will be a used tractor. 230 hours is merely a good trial run. I had the pleasure of using a 4310 equipped about the same way, during our county 4H fair a couple summers past. (Local dealer lent it to the 4H board to clean out the barns after the fair) That is a sweet tractor.
