Hey guys I'm wanting to run auxiliary lines to the front for a grapple but also would like the option to be able to run a small bushog. I have rear auxiliaries now for tilt and top but they're run through a manual diverter so I would have to hit the diverter to make loader adjustments which would kill the bushog. I guess my question is if I add another valve in line before the diverter with power beyond what kind of valve would be able to operate a grapple today then run a motor tomorrow thanks

I am a little confused. I am guessing you want to drive your brush hog with a hydraulic motor?

If so, the easy answer is there is no one size fits both for the valve spool. For a cylinder, you need a cylinder spool (A & B ports blocked in neutral). Motors typically need a motor spool (A & B ports connected to tank in neutral).

Easiest to find is cylinder spool valves. And for what you want to do, likely the valve you want.

To use the brush hog, you can install a crossover relief valve between the motor and valve on the brush hog. The crossover relief will allow the motor to stop against the relief, oil going over the relief goes back into the motor. Just be aware, some motors will need a 3rd line for a case drain. If the motor is noisy when stopping or fails a shaft seal, you need a case drain.

Thanks Rich that's exactly what I was asking sorry for the confusion. Yes I will have a hydraulic motor on the bushog. I was hoping to get away with one set of lines to the front and a single valve for simplicity. I have seen the crossover valve and plumbing in my research but wasn't sure if the cylinder spool valve would be ok for a motor also. I guess a mechanical lock ON device could be used to run the motor?
