White lt165 Hydro problem

Hi, I have a white lt165 hydrostatic transmission. Bought it brand new in 02 or 03. Last week when I was mowing it lost speed and wouldn't barley move. Got off looked underneath and saw oil leaking from the transmission. Did a seal go out or a crack develop in the case? Is there a way to add oil to these or is it a sealed throw away unit?
Would it be worth to try and fix or just sell it? Probably wouldn't want to spend several hundred on it. We have a murray rear engine rider to use so were not with out a mower.

Probably sealed with no way to drain or add fluid.
This thing is 6/7 years old about the expected life span of an entry level throw away riding mower.
How old's the Murray?

First, you need to find if the case is cracked or if it is just a seal leaking. Nobody here can tell you that without seeing your transmission. If the case is cracked, you may need to replace the whole transmission. If it is just a seal leaking (around the axle for example) it may be repairable. In any case, you need to know the brand and model of transmission. That should be stamped on the case somewhere or you could find info by doing an online search. It it is a TuffTorq transmission, there's a good chance you can find repair parts or a complete replacement at a decent price.

Hi, we sold the white lt165 never did take a look at it. Now the murray rider has steering problems. You turn it to the left the steering makes a clicking noise and the steering wheel just spins and wheels don't turn. It will turn to the right just fine. Is the teeth on the steering shaft worn out? Can I replace just that or do I have to buy the whole steering unit?
