Who else has knocked their knee on the key?

My biggest dislike of the CT235: the ignition switch location. I have knocked my knee on it 3 or 4 times getting in and scraped up my leg twice getting out on the right side. Even bent the top of it to the side once, too. I am much, much more careful getting in and out on the right side now.

My wife was operating yesterday and she has to have the seat so close (yep, she's short!) that she kept banging her right knee on it too. She was not happy.

All in all it's not that bad of a complaint for such a good machine. But I had to say it

I might take a page from a motorcycle mod and get a replacement key, cut the top off and epoxy it into something flat and smooth so it won't hurt if we keep hitting it...

Last winter I hit the tractor key with my knee. It broke off in the switch. It finally came out but only after removing the switch. Since then I have filled grooves on all the keys so that if they do break there is enough left to get a hold off. It stoped the tractor in a very awkward location.

You may want to consider moving the switch or protecting it before the key breaks.

I had the same problem. I was going to relocate the switch to the hole on the left side of the dash. Its got a rubber plug in it now. I'm getting a new 225 this week, (replacing the old 225-25hp). Its on my to-do list! I also have an electric gate remote on my key that dangles and hits my leg even with the seat back. I think its just a poor place for the ignition.

I have not found the key to be a problem but every time I shift around to look over my right sholder to back up, I end up raising the loader with my right knee.

Still new to the tractor but i try to always get out of the left side. Its too easy to hit the loader or hydro pedals getting out of the right side. I also grew up with cabbed tractors where you always get out of the left anyway though.

I hit my knee on the key and **** the tractor off last Sunday

My little Kubota B6000E has this same problem. The key and my right knee are always in competition for the same space. Fortunately, one of the previous owners somehow attached what looks like a 2" piece of pipe around the key switch that stands about 1.5" off the dashboard. It's not welded, but I'm not sure how it's attached since I haven't had the tractor very long.

It doesn't do much for my knee, but the key is quite safe.
