Who has a snowplow they love?

I’m already planning for winter and I need to buy a plow for my ct2025/ck2610.

anyone love their snow plow? Is heavier better?

Love my Arctic poly plow with trip edge and galvanized frame. Have had it for 12 years and no issues.

I run an SSQA 84" HLA 2000 blade on the front, and a Land Pride on the rear. Both are nice blades, and work well for me.

Heavier blades tend to get ice and hard pack up better with the potential of more pavement scraping. My HLA blade weighs about 500 lbs and I usually don't float the fel because the weight on the pavement would be excessive. I generally set the blade down until the weight of the blade only is on the ground, then feather the fel as necessary.

Since plowing with a tractor is not at high speed like a plow truck, the weight is less important.

However some sort of trip mechanism remains essential as a plow will always find that obstruction be it a stump or protruding frost heaved rock.
Edge tamers do help, for sure they help avoiding plowing stone/gravel off to the grassed areas.

I welded up a quick attach SS plate that will accept the standard Fisher plow set up a few years ago. Borrowed a plow from my father and the only one available was his 9ft Western. It was heavy, but plowed well, even with my relatively tiny tractor. I rebuilt a 7.5ft Meyers plow and cut the A-frame down to get it closer to the loader arms. This plow is much lighter and easier on the tractor. Downside is that the 9ft plow cuts such a wide swath, that you never run over snow. The 7.5 is not big enough to cover the back tires while angled and turning.

I don't 'love' any implement, I do love my wife and kids. Implements are tools to use, nothing more.... My plow is a 10 foot wide power angle and it's heavy.
