I checked container price delivered to central Florida. It is now about $2900 (40'), dropped on site. I am not sure if it is an alternate solution for storage space at this price. Does anyone know a better source? Thanks.

WOW!!!! you got a good price, here in AZ they want $4,500+ for a 40 footer. For that price I'll build my own shed. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Check out this. There's more if you search around. I have no idea what they end up going for or what it costs for delivery. There may be some at a base closer to you. government liquidation
They used to be less expensive, but the hurricanes created quite a shortage (everyone needed them to store their goods while their houses were rebuilt), the prices went up, and apparently they have not come back down. I got mine (attached picture) for less, about $1800 delivered, because I found one with some minor damage. It has a dent in one side near the top that ripped the top about 3"; all it took to do a temporary repair was some duct tape. You can see the dent right after the 4th rib. I was lucky; the storage yard had lost their repair guy and hadn't hired a new one yet, and needed the room, so they sold several damaged crates for less. Most of them had more damage than mine; many of them has badly rusted roofs. I thought about buying one of them for around $1200 and doing a roof-over with some boards, OSB and heavy felt paper, but the one I got was a better deal.

My 20' er was in the neighborhood of 2000$ delivered to my site about 35 miles away from the yard. I am near the port of Tacoma so there are a few yards. It had some surface rust and was used but very functional and lockable. I painted it with 2 gallons of paint and a spray gun, then added several ventilation ducts like are used with houses. I plan to move it myself pretty soon to a more hidden location.

40' containers don't cost much more than a 20' one. 40' containers are much more widely used and available, while 20' ones are less common, and thus the higher price per foot.

Their price was $2200 + $3.75/tilt-bed mile from Jacksonville, FL, total $2900 dropped on site. I checked another vendor. Same price. I guess I shouldn't complain.
By the way, I have a question for the gentleman who is keeping his tractor inside a container. How well does it work. When you start up the engine, does exhaust fill up the container? Is this a problem? I am not talking about odor. I mean carbon monoxide filling the space where you breathe.
