They used to be less expensive, but the hurricanes created quite a shortage (everyone needed them to store their goods while their houses were rebuilt), the prices went up, and apparently they have not come back down. I got mine (attached picture) for less, about $1800 delivered, because I found one with some minor damage. It has a dent in one side near the top that ripped the top about 3"; all it took to do a temporary repair was some duct tape. You can see the dent right after the 4th rib. I was lucky; the storage yard had lost their repair guy and hadn't hired a new one yet, and needed the room, so they sold several damaged crates for less. Most of them had more damage than mine; many of them has badly rusted roofs. I thought about buying one of them for around $1200 and doing a roof-over with some boards, OSB and heavy felt paper, but the one I got was a better deal.
