Just checked jd parts for replacement belt H64484 (JD 4115 72" mmm deck drive belt). A little less than $100.00. Who makes JD belts? What are the specs. for drive belt H64484? I'm sure I could find (say Gates or Goodyear) a local industrial belt dealer.

Id be curious as well to the mfg... I just read yesterday that the 62c/d mmm belts are about $80 - thats quite expensive in my opinion..

Probably more then just one and to get the specs' would be nearly impossible!

Using generic belts might miss some of the properties of a factory belt which might have different make up over them for strength.

I would bet it is Gates. I would also bet the exact belt(length/width) is only made for Deere. You might be able to find one that would work though. If you do post it so others may have the info.

Wish you luck finding the mfg. and the same specs Deere has for them.

And I'd be willing to bet that if you found the supplier, they would not sell the belt dirctly to you.

I found just the tines (knives/blades/teeth or whatever) for a 3 ph rototiller now handled by Rhino and supplied by another company. They were very helpful to line me up with the parts, but those tiller parts could only be obtained through a Rhino dealer.

Just the way the deals go.

My experience with belts is yes, OEM is usually a little more expensive...not by much though and the OEM belts just plain ol LAST. When you factor in the fact they last 3x longer, in the big picture they are cheaper.
Aftermarket belts dont seem to last as long. They all look the same on the outside, but I'd bet that the cord construction on an OEM belt is of superior construction.

you could check ebay or google the belt part #, I found JD belts for up to $10 off JD's price. Also, watch JD parts online for parts coupons. They currently have belts 10% off for residential equipment.

At nearly 174" long that does not sound to bad for a price. As previous poster mentioned typically they are a high end belt in terms of quality, cord material etc. But if you must, it is 173.76" long, .880 wide, .530 thick, with a 34 deg angle. Get a Deere dealer and request a a-c170, this will be an aftermarket version probably a pix belt and it will most likely come from India. It will fit and will be a lot less money but you will wait longer for it and it will not be near the quality, better buy 2!!

Oops, I should mention the above length is the effective length. Not the outside length, that is, the measurment inside of the pulley where it runs. When giving effective length to most parts houses you must add anywhere from 1-3" depending on the thickness.
