who makes motor in 6000?

I've looked around for a new tractor for our farm for a couple of months and can't decide what I should buy. I want something thats going to last awhile I haven't really seen many Mahindras with any hours on them so I dunno how they are going ot hold up in the long run. Does anyone know who builds the motors in these tractors looked everywhere and cant find anything about it?

Simple Answer: Mahindra Mahindra had AVL (big diesel manufacturer in Austria) design the engine. Mahindra builds their own engines for the 00 series tractors. Don't think anyone has had any major issues with the engines at all. My 6000 ('02 model) had a power steering resovoir replaced and that's it. I have about 240 hours on mine. BobG in VA

I have almost 500 hours on my 6000 and not a single problem with the engine. I would not discount Mahindras ability to build good engines. Lots of folks are doing that these days. The engine wouldn't be high on my list of concerns about buying another Mahindra!

I have 1000 hours on my 6000 and have had no problems with the engine at all.

I don't own a Mahindra...yet, but I am looking forward to one day getting one. I did do some study and several things I really liked about the 00 series was that the Mahindra built engines were direct inject (no glow plugs needed) and had wet sleeved engines. None of the other tractors seem to have those two features. After having to rebuild a very abused Kioti I picked up cheap, I would really appreciate the wet sleeves.
