Why use expensive machinery at home when you have a huge labor supply that needs employment.

Exactly. I have seen men with sledgehammers (with flexible handles!) smashing down a 3 story concrete building, at the same time a tracked excavator-like vehicle with a hydraulic jackhammer (instead of a bucket) worked on other parts of the building. Often right below the guys with the hammers! :confused2:

OSHA would not be amused!

Oh, yeah. No safety equipment. Just walking along the concrete beams, which looked to be around 18" across.

I've lived there. I've seen their methods. I don't feel safe in Chinese high-rise buildings.

i agree i dont even feel safe in my chinese made shoes, im talking about that teamwork they are doing, looks like a finely oiled machine.

Seams like on a lot of westerns movies I watch when building the US railroad, the majority of railroad rails being laid down is done by the Chinese workers, probably brought here by Ben Cartwright when he got Hopsing.....

That's historically accurate for the western section from San Francisco to the place where they met up in Utah. It took longer to get through the Rockies than through the plains, so the meeting place was skewed pretty far to the west from where a halfway point would have been based on miles alone.

The eastern section was mostly poor European immigrants, Irish predominantly, if memory serves me correctly.
