I know I am new here but a few guys and I on heavy equipment forms are trying to get a video game manufacture to produce a high detail and realistic game. I need your feedback and ideas as to what you guys would like. Open to all suggestions and ideas. Will keep you updated. Thanks guys.

I bought Tonkas Dig'n rigs for my nephew years ago. My two kids loved it as well (ok so did i). Unfortunately, the controller doesnt fit on my new keyboard. Wasnt too realistic but fun. Id buy one.

What we want is a high detail game. I do not know of any out there and there are plenty of kids and adults out there that have an interest in equipment. Thanks.

The problem with most farm games is you can only do just so much as it is all repetitive work. Construction equipment is all repetitive movements also. Unless you can have 40-50 work sites available to play it will get very boring real quick.

Excavators, loaders, dozers and such are a lot of fun to operate in real life but would be kind of boring on a computer. But if you can get a lot of work sites available to work on then I would be interested at seeing a preview. If there are less then 10 sites then I won't be buying.

I'd be interested. My son was playing something the other day on his DS and one of the characters was an excavator. Even he commented how cool it would be to operate one in the game. The controls are all there, just need the software. I agree, detail would be important, but Robert in NY made some good points as well. Maybe the game could be patterned after the backhoe rodeos you see from time to time.

When I was in my early 20's, I particularly enjoyed Grand Turismo on the PS1, with the possibility of upgrading the car (add turbo, add torsion bars, change flywheel, etc...).

I think it would be nice to come up with something that allow the player to modify it's machine (like adding a priority flow valve to run a mulcher :D, letting the player to route himself his hydraulic to install a thumb, or some other attachments, installing a power unit, painting it of course, etc...) But then, you'll need some mech and hydraulic experts on your team, not just programmers...

I agree with Robert_in_NY, an actual fun "goal" will have to make it interesting. Not everyone will like to play Sim-Backhoe. Makes me remember of an old Nintendo game that was a real-time (yes, real-time) bus driving simulation, where the player had to drive crazy distances, like from New York to San Francisco. Imagine the pleasure!

Not sure the usual "zombie-chasing" scenario would be for everyone , though I'm sure some would enjoy dozing or mulching a few :D

That is a good point that I would have never thought about. Alot of diverse work sites.

I think that having alot of different types of jobs such as site grading, land clearing, forestry, excavation, small company jobs, and any other type of job would also help.

All great ideas guys. Keep them coming.

Thats something I never would have thought of either. Upgrading machinery.

being able to upgrade would be the ticket...or trading in machines and buying newer/bigger ones...the possibilities are pretty endless really...you could get into logistics of moving equipment between jobs too
