Yanmar 2301
So, I just took delivery of my Yanmar 2301 and I really like the thing. Got it from Dave's Tractor in Red Bluff, CA. and feel I was treated right. Now to find the manuals.. I have read on the forum that a YM276 is a pretty close match for an American type and am wondering if the decal set would be OK as far as having the right stuff for my 2301 as I don't read Japanese too well. Any advice appreciated...

Congratulations and Welcome to TBN.

Is it possible that your model is a YM2310??

Dave's tractors is one of the good guys!

Not sure what exactly your tractor looks like or its engine size but I would suggest looking into a John Deere manual. Say a 650, 750, or 850 series. Same tractors just painted green. Some minor differences IE safety and such but all in all a much better match than trying to get a Yanmar manual for one of the American Versions that do not have same engines or hydraulics.

If its a 2310 then I would bet that a John Deere 850 Manual would be PERFECT.

The John Deere 850 was closer to a Yanmar YM2500 (which may be the same for a YM2310- I'm not sure). I had the tractor and an I&T Shop Manual for the JD 850. The other manual I had, which was very thick, was a service manual for the YM330 U.S. Yanmar- closest model to my YM2500.

I got the YM330 manual from Danny Parker, which is "1danny" here on TBN. He was the cheapest. He is also very helpful and friendly, everytime I called him- and I called him a lot!

As I gather from reading the forums, the numbers ending in 10 are power shift and the ones ending in 01 are sliding gear which is what mine is.

It's a 2301D, not a 10. Sort of like the difference between a 1601D and a 1610D...alll the same, except for power-shift.

Rob will contact you about a complimentary manual for the tractor. YM276D is the closest genuine Yanmar manual, and we have one.

Thanks for the business!

Well, Dave, I didn't want to sound like I was doing an advertisement for a tractor company when I started this thread, but now I feel compelled to tell the boys that I bought this tractor sight unseen based upon the reviews I found regarding your service. Your offer of the manual just confirms that I made a good choice in selecting Dave's tractor. Ironically, I found out about it by inquiring about a Jinma that you had listed on E**y. Rob steered me toward the Yanmar with his assessment of tractor quality comparisons. I'm glad connected with him. Thanks for the manual, it's much appreciated.

Its great that your dealer is supplying you with a comp. manual. Thats great service.

Just want to say that I hope it has the same engine size you have in tractor. Or in 10 or 20 years when you go to rebuild it nothing will match. IE wear tolerances, piston diameters, cylinder diameters, etc.

Plus I hope it does not have power steering because diagnosing a hydraulic problem will get ruff.
