I ask myself this every time a website starts using one. IMOH all that it does is slow everything down. The latest is my "yahoo" email, which has been my main account since 2001. Rather than simply deleting a message, I chase that delete button all over the screen and often need to exit the account and log back in again. Conversely because the da&&ed thing jumps around so much I have caught myself deleting things I want to save. It also takes similar messages and combines them, although they often are from altogether different senders. I know that I'm old and set in my ways, but I can't understand the need to change something just to screw it up.

You mindreader LOL. Same here with the time with yahoo mail if not a bit longer.
I work on the theory if it works, leave it the he77 alone. They also have you re login on your phone every couple of weeks. If I choose to stay logged in forever, it's me that pays the price if someone gets my phone. Just leave me alone

There is rarely any advantage to the user from an app. The advantage to the company is that you basically surrender your anonymity. User data is the currency of the 21st century and by trying to push you to use an app they're trying to mine your user data.

Buttons that move are poor user interface design. Unfortunately there's been a number of recent trends in UI design that are downgrades from a usability standpoint. Grey text on a grey background. Hidden menus. Tiny fonts. Buttons that change position. Web sites that are super tall so you have to scroll and scroll to get anywhere. Part of the problem is that the people designing and building them are all 20-somethings with similar backgrounds. They design stuff that looks cool to them but might not work for other people.

Don't mean to change the subject but DIRECTV recently "enhanced" TV UI using several shades of grey with small white font text. I can't read a darn thing > 3 feet from TV. The 20-somethings propeller-heads have taken over the world! :thumbdown:

I'm 31, not far removed from the "20-something propeller heads" and I don't like it either. My biggest complaints are:
"Simplification" - dumbing down the UI until it's just dumb.
"SAAS" - taking what you used to own and turning it into a subscription service that you'll have to pay for for the rest of your life
