Why buy x300 instead of 400 series

   / Why buy x300 instead of 400 series #11
I have an X320 with 48" deck and power flow. It works quite well as it even sucks up the small brances that are constantly falling from my cedars. I have never been able to clog it, even in the rain. I have at least 2.5 acres of actual lawn. I used to mow with an L110 and it could take as long as 4.5 hours. The most it takes now is 2.5, though with the warmer weather even less as I don't have to empty as often.

I think you can go up to 54" on the deck, but I stayed smaller since my land is very rolly polly. I didn't pay the extra for the 4 wheel steer even though I have tons of obstacles. The 48" deck hangs out enough that it works fine and a larger deck would even be better. The uncut area in a turn is actually much smaller than the old smaller mower.

The biggest time savings besides a little smaller deck is 1) I can mow almost always at near top speed and 2) the power flow packs much more grass (of course you have to deal with much heavier bags when emptying). That 22 horse Kawasaki is so much nice than that 19 horse Briggs.

Of course, if I had the money and was going to keep this spread I'm on now, I would go with something with a diesel and large fuel tank. If I forget to fill after mowing I always run out of gas the next time I mow as far away from the fuel as I could be.
