- Former Owner PowerTrac 425 (September 2003)
I was on Ebay looking at used compact utility tractors when I came upon a PowerTrac 418 for sale. I had never seen one before and the design really intrigued me. There was a link to TBN where I found MossRoad and his home page. From then on (early 2001) I began the process to learn more about PowerTrac and their products. I traveled to Louisville for the 2001 Expo as I learned that PowerTrac would be there with all models. Both my wife and I drove different models, digging, moving dirt, testing different attachments and in general getting a feel for the performance. We were hooked from that time on.
I had to wait another two years before I flew to Tazewell to meet the folks at PowerTrac and see their manufacturing operation. Again we tested the 425 and many different attachments and then placed our order.
The 425 with attachments arrived the day after Labor Day, 2003 and I picked up that morning. Drove to a friend’s home to start my very first project, the building of 4 stonewalls in the front of his home. This was a little intimidating as I had only about 20 minutes time on the 425 and now would be doing major work.
The following pictures give you a recap of what I have been doing during my first year of ownership. Each of the attachments has been put through their paces on many projects by time of year. I only had a couple of projects planned when the purchase was made. Little did I know that this little green machine would change my life in the pursuit of projects never dreamed of.
I now have over 265 hours on the 425 (first year) and I can truthfully say this has been the best purchase I have ever made. This is my third tractor over the years.
I do not baby this machine, in fact, it has been totally abused, pushed to its limits, and has done everything I have put it through.
