Use the rotate button when link opens, first and second pic show bridge and "normal" look of things. It's about 15' from bridge to top of water.

The way things look after our rains the other day, the water was about 5' from bridge, and in the pic with the Indian Paintbrush flowers, shows how the field coming into our place next to the road looks.

Normally, in view 08, there is no water visible. On one occasion, back in '90, the water actually backed up in that field and got over our road.

Afternoon Michael,
Real nice job ! I can see some iron worker mentality in that project ! ;)

Great for the lawn mower, but keep the Farmalls off it ! :)

I was beginning to think that I was the only one in N. Texas who got any extra rain. Nice bridge! I can think of a couple of places I could use one of those.:)

That's a pretty cool bridge!! That river scares me. I just think there's a water mocisin in those trees or about to float down stream any second. I know it's crazy, but just looking at your pics made me think of snakes!!!

Did you see any while building it?

Now that you have it, do you fish off of it? What have you cought?

What type of hardware did you use to connect the vertical cables to the support cables?

When attatchment opens, scroll down to last pic. I cut 1' lengths of cable and lashed the ends to keep from unraveling, then fastened to support cable with a 5/8 cable clamp. (I didn't know how much wear was going to be at the point of intersection with vertical cable, and I didn't want it wearing through my support cable.) I then looped the vertical cable over the top and fastened back to itself with a 1/4 inch cable clamp. Worked perfect. No wear what-so-ever since it's been built.

Eddie, didn't see any snakes while building it (was built from about November to February--winter months). We have seen beavers swimming under it, raccoons on the banks, and possums in the trees. Water doesn't really stay deep enough for any good fish. Mostly carp and gar, buffalo, during the summer.
