Why is it so hard to help out someone in need and how did we get to this point???

If all the big money people paid their 10% tithe, required by the bible and many other religions, to low overhead charities; the government would be out of the charity/welfare business and we then put all those drones doing productive tax paying real jobs.

Actually, tithing was an old testiment requirement, and it was the starting point. If they gave all the sacrifices it was much more than 10%.
Under the new law, we are to give as we prosper, there is no percentage given. However, giving should be a sacrifice, meaning if we don't notice it, it's not enough. So again, probably more than 10%, but we must all wrestle with how much.
