That whenever you get in a vehicle for a long ride, a fly climbs in there with you?

Then the fly can't just chill in the corner or on the back window, he feels compelled to periodically take flight and buzz your face. And when you try to smack him, he precisely knows the angles between the dash, windshield and door, so that you can't smack him with whatever you have in your hand. As he flies around the truck, you're like Maverick and Goose from Top Gun, looking for the bogey so you can take your shot.

And then it seems if you do get lucky and kill him, another one must have been lying in wait, because he somehow appears and continues the torment.

My pondering of life's little puzzles continues.

<snert> Yeah, I hear you.

It's also that time of the year (for me) to check under both visors in case a huntsman spider is hiding there. They're harmless but 'big' with long legs. o_O

You oughta see what it’s like when you farm. You’ll have 5-10 of them in your vehicle every day.

One would also think they would die after a few weeks but no they last months inside a vehicles.

I have service calls occasionally at a pet food factory. I had a customer flag me down next to one of the water treatment ponds to talk to me.

Well, if that ever happens again, I'll make the customer move to a better spot before I'll roll down the window of the truck.

After talking to the customer for a couple minutes next to that pond, I probably ended up with around 5000 flies in the cab with me

For the next 20 minutes, I was driving down the road, windows down, and swinging some shop towels all over the cab to herd those blasted flies out of the cab.

Once back to the shop, I left the windows down on the truck for the next couple days, to let them blasted things move on.

I hear you gsganzer. For that random fly - just open all the windows - wide open. Hopefully - the fly soon finds one of the openings. Fortunately - the Taco Wagon has power windows.

HOWEVER - yesterday - Brownie and I took a ride down south to Steptoe butte. It was a beautiful - 72F - day. Stopped at the orchard at the base of the butte - "something" had eaten all the apples. Back in the truck and there - crawling across the dash - one very large and mad - hornet. Man - did I ever look for a place to pull off. I finally just stopped in the middle of the road and got that bugger OUT without anybody getting stung.

I once had to hang a fly tape in my pickup, after leaving my window open while feeding the pigs.

In my pondering of life's puzzles:

Why don't we just split the difference between standard time and daylight savings time and set the clock year round for that time? That way we can "set it and forget it" and the time works for the whole year.
