Pete,

Good points on the Orange one. But, I have to tell you in my neighborhood those orange ones pretty much sell for as much as the green ones. I went to a machinery auction little over a year ago and a guy bought a used Kubota, about 350 hrs, FEL, decent looking and that's it and paid $26.5K. This just about knocked me out of my socks since I priced a comparable JD model with FEL and new for that matter for less than this.

So far. The only close call I had was when I was going downhill very slowly with a big hunk of maple log in the bucket (it's a blind hill at the crest). I was really crawling because the road has a 22% slope and I was worried about having all that weight up front. (Should have backed up.) Anyway, this Grand Cherokee from Massachusetts came roaring up the hill so fast I was startled, twitched my hand on the loader joystick the wrong way and dropped the log. Never saw a vehicle back up so fast in my life as when the Jeep driver saw that huge log rolling toward his brand new SUV! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Otherwise, folks tend to notice that bright orange.

Its getting so we may have to put some of those big road signs out..AHEAD EQUIPMENT WORKING.. just to protect us,for logger site are doing this more often around here.

If "best" can be described as fewer initial problems, good quality control and immediate dealer/factory support to right a wrong, then J/D should be green, green with envy,for the good job orange does! . I received all of that with Kubota and not with blue or green, that is why I no longer own them. So yes, green is a fitting color for J/D and blue is certainly a fit as well, I would be blue with those problems too. Glad this is just for fun!

well, this has been enjoyable reading ... just as in the computer world I love hearing the mac-aholics joust with the M$dottie .. when I know my antique Amigas are still better than their "bleeding edge" stuff .... but I'll have to throw in my two cents on the tractor colors.
First off ... we'll just stick with colors since that's what started this thread.
I like the orange since it reminds me of the Safety Orange that we painted everything that moved at the oil mine I worked for previously. It was deemed to be the most instantly recognizable color ... hence the name "Safety Orage". I like that! I like seatbelts and rollbars, too!
Green? Hmm ... well .... seems to me that green is the color of rotting meat. ughhhh.
