I see that PJ and maybe some others make a "super wide" equipment trailer with drive over fenders and 102" width and 81.5" between the fenders.

Is this a useful design? I sometimes have to load tractors that are a few inches beyond 81.5". Do you think these fenders are designed to take the weight of a machine that would be pushing close to the GVW capacity of the trailer?

My other concern would be balancing the load properly. Suppose it ends up that the rear tractor axle has to be partially on the fenders to get a good balance.

I like the idea of the lower load height compared to a deck-over along with the wide deck fore and aft, but just aren't sure how it would work out for certain load situations of tractor + attachments.

While the drive over fenders work I would not transport a piece of wheeled equipment with it resting on them. If you need that much width and can not back on or pull forward on to get it balanced you need a deck over trailer.
