Tractor
Kubota L3430
I have too many little tractors I have a Ford 1720, Kubota L3430 and a LS xr4046 plus a big John Deere backhoe.
I am thinking the Ls is the one to go its a great tractor same as new with 257 hrs. 2015 year model cab and AC. Just not sure what to ask. It was 29,545 when new, I think I would like 24,000 does this sound too far out of line. IMG_1201.jpg

At more than a thousand years old it seems quite modern and in exceptional condition! But since you are only putting about one hour every four years, your resale value seems fair.

The way I guestimate the value of something is to figure out what I paid for it, what it costs new today, any upgrades that I have done, and figure out a number. If that number seems just a tad high and makes me feel just a bit uncomfortable asking for it, its a good price.

The price of something should make you feel a bit uncomfortable in asking it. If not, then you are probably letting someone take advantage of you, and when you sell it and realize that you could have gotten more, then you will feel even more uncomfortable. If you list it too high, and you know you wont get any offers, then you should come down. Know what you have and what you can sell it for. The right buyer is out there. This is, of course, you are not in a hurry to sell this thing. If you are, then you will pay for that in a steep discount.

Let the potential buyer talk you down a bit, but remember, you dont really need to sell it (even if you do) and you know whats it worth. They came to you, hoping to get a really good deal, and they should get a good deal, but not take advantage of you.

My wife has never asked me to sell anything, but I'm prepared if she does. I will price that particular item for the value it gives to me. Lets say my dump truck. Its ugly, but runs well and handles all of my dirty work. I love that truck. If it had to go on the market, I'd want $15K, and probably ask $18K. I'm sure people would laugh at that, but that is what is worth to me. And I'm pretty sure it would remain in my possession.

Your LS - what is it worth to you? Maybe its the only cab tractor in your fleet and it handles you snow work? That would be worth a lot to me.
