It started as a simple radio project until my buddy Big Joe got a hold of it.. Its almost going to be too nice to be on a tractor.. While he was at it he installed front and rear work lights.;

Here is veiw from the rear.. Its not stained, this was a test fit;

Here is pic from front:

He is going all out 2, 5.25" speakers in the radio box and a seperate box to fit the 2 6x9's. Aviation type toggle switches on nice aluminum plate.

more pics to follow if it ever stops raining down here....

Nice job Chuck.... to take it to the NEXT level.....

We used to build boxes like that for boats years ago. What we used to do to purty them up, was to cover the box with leatherette. Just spray glue on the box and back of the leatherette, wait till tacky and adhere to the box using a hard roller to expel air pockets, we were able to get a darn good professional looking finish buy just doing that...

It'll give your wife something to talk about anyway...... lol

I agree.. Protect the box with weatherproof paint / urethane.. or marine grade vinyl.. it will look great.

May i also suggest that you put in a stereo 1/4 jack that will interrupt the speakers ( radio shack has them ).. it is just a 1/4 stereo headphone jack.

Then you can pop in headphones and it will take the speakers out of the circuit.

I have a fender mount radio on my tractor and love it.

Hmmm.... I have a set of noise cancelling stereo headsets that would work nice.... Just need a tractor to put them on first. :D

Yep.. when doing low rpm stuff like moving hay.. i like the speaker.. but when revved up and mowing.. gotta wear a big set of muffs/headphones.

Valubilt apparently.

I just got their 'gift' catalog today.. in it is a radio/set of speakers in a small enclosure that installs on the underside of the canopy. I think it was 150$ Doesn't have the neat wood grain of the posters.. but looks 'functional'.. etc.

Hey Chuck...That's a really nice setup! I like it.

Now about your wife...I see you have a backhoe. That means another seat on the tractor! Tell your loving wife...that after dark you can now put on some soft romantic music and you two can go parking in the pale moonlight! Like being teenagers again!

To a traktor man it, don't git any better than that!!!!
