Chains Will 27X8.50-14LT chains fit 27X8.5-15 tires?

Just for the heck of it I looked on JCWhitney for tire chains. They have some 27X8.50-14LT bar twist link chains on there for $66 a pair.

My question is will these work on my 27X8.5-15 R4 tires???

Probably better than nothing, but you might have to buy a few quik-links to lengthen them. I used truck chains on my little Bota for the few years I had it. Was a lot cheaper than buying tractor chains and I could always hit the hardware store if I needed more crosslinks. You probably won't be dealing with high speed or miles of pavement driving and you will have something that is light enough to put on and off without getting a hernia.

Tire manufacturers all build to different spec's and they may work with no problems. Worse case you need to add a couple of links to the side chains and you might be short a cross chain.

This is not the ideal way to buy chains as it will cost more then just buying the right ones!

If they come in a slightly larger size for about the same price, I'd go for the larger ones, still a lot cheaper than proper tractor chains in our area....
Its easier to cut a set down a bit than build them up, plus you might wind up with a spare crosslink or two for future repairs.
