Mid-Mount Mower Will a 60" Mower fit on a Deere 655

I have a nice John Deere 655. I know deere recommends a 50" Mid mount mower on this tractor. Does anyone know if a 60" unit can be installed on a 655?

:welcome: to TBN! I cant say for sure on this issue because the 60" mower likely has different mounting locations and linkages thus it would take a bit of modification just to attach it to your tractor. It also would depend on the year too i suppose, is it used or new?

It is used but only has 300 hours on it. I really don't want to go back to a 50" mower.

Another option is a 60" rear finish mower.

Specs I read said that it is only 16 engine, and 10 pto HP. Do you think it has the nads to run a 60" deck even if you got it mounted?

I believe it will fit, because that's the combination I wanted to buy back in the early 90's. The JD dealer wouldn't sell me that combo, saying the 655 lacked the necessary hp for the 60". I bought my 755 as a result.
