Rake Will a landscrap rake grade my driveway?

Paul thanks for this link. This looks like a very interesting implement for keeping a gravel drive in really nice shape. It seems to be kind of a modified box blade & rake combination that won't redistribute quite as much material in one pass; probably really useful for leveling out new top dressing also. Mind sharing about how much it cost?

The TR3 is about the cadillac of arena drags but they aren't cheap. a 6 footer runs in the area of $2K and shipping to me was another $1K. Plant is in indianna so shipping would be a lot less if you live close to plant. (I've reasearched them and it's on my wish list). I think it would do about the best for driveway maintenance and it's built like a tank. If I only had one implement to do gravel driveway I'd go with the blade and skid shoes. You can dig in if needed, use the skid shoes to crown, and if you have a lot of loose material you set the skid shoes a little high and you get a perfectly level surface. I've used it to evenly spread sand in our horse arena and it leaves it like a pool table. I can't do that with a rake (and I have one with guage wheels).

They negotiate...so if you are interested...call them as if you were buying a USED CAR...always ask them if they can do better...then wait a week...and when they call you back, ask if they can lower the price or throw-in an extra feature...

Bought a 5' Leinbach Yard Tool today and have been grading 1/4 mile gravel access road for the last couple of hours(really bad shape). Works great! Thanks FarmwithJunk for the supporting information on the Yard Tool that finally push me over the edge in getting one. Paid $450 for the Yard Tool. I did find going uphill with it full I lost traction and would spin out. Have R4's on the TYM T273.

Sounds like you got it at a good price too! Wait 'till you get to use it for what it's intended for. (Finishing graded dirt) They leave a great seedbed for grass. Being somewhat of a specialty tool, not everyone can justify purchasing one. I'm suprised more rental companies don't have 'em available.
