Kubota BX23
Hi all, I just bought a BX23 with a 54"mmm yesterday and I'm full of questions. The tractor won't be delivered for a couple weeks so I will probably be using up my nervous energy while waiting by posting stupid questions here. I have been lurking and reading while deciding what to buy, and the information that I found here made the decision to get the Kubota much easier. Thanks to everyone who posts here, cause I think that I've gone back and read them all.

I have a JD 216 that the Kubota is replacing and I was wondering if the 38" sleeve hitch box scraper that I used on my 216 could be made to fit the BX23? If so what would I need do to adapt it? Or would I be better off getting one made for a 3pt. hitch?

Thanks,
Jim

Your BX23 has a Cat 1 3PH and it will not work with any sleeve, slot or clevis hitch implements.
Altho your BX23 may appear to like a very large L&G tractor, it ain't /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif it's a Sub Compact Tractor or Scut for short.
You've done moved on up to the east side /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There may be someone with other suggestions but the only way I see that you can use that box blade will be to weld a 3PH adapter to it and remove the sleeve hitch hardware.

I've seen plenty of home made 3PH adapters around, I've got one on an old single gang pull disc, and it seems I've seen some for sale somewhere but don't recall.....
If your handy with a welder it can be done.
You can try to weld one up or sell the L&G boxblade and get one that is made for SubCut's.

There is a difference between std Cat 1 implements and Cat 1 implements made for Scuts. Since Scuts have shorter rear wheels, they can't always lift std 3PH implements high enough off the ground for transport. So when your shopping for implements make sure your looking at implements that'll work off of a Scut. Theres plenty around, TSC, CoOp's and most all tractor shops.

Congrats on the BX23, I've had one for awhile now and it's a hard working little beast /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck

Thanks for the advice Volfandt. I guess that I'll sell the scraper with the JD and look for one that fits the 23.

Jim
