Will a TC-25D be able to handle my Frontier GM1072R rear finish mower?

The TC25D has a MMM, but wondering if I can use it in place of my 75 Ford 2000
to operate the Finish Mower.

Unless you are consistantly mowing wet heavy grass, I think you will be surprised how easily the TC25D handles the mower. I used a 24 hp engine/ 19 hp PTO subcompact on a 6' rear discharge for 10 years and was satisfied with the cut. I upgraded to a TC33D and it never knew the mower was back there. Good Luck

I bought my TC25D new in 1999 with a 6' 930B rear mower deck and it's been working fine all these years for cutting 5 acres. If I miss a week and the grass gets a little long around the septic field (go figure), I may need to slow my travel speed a little in the deep stuff. Other than that, it works well.

Well. last weekend I did mount the RFM on the TC25 and it powered it fine. Grass was not really in need of cutting but I wanted to get a feel for how the tractor would handle the weight. Its a tad heavy I think and I will pick up some weights for the front, when lifting the mower if I go too fast it pulls the front wheels off the ground, so that tells me I don't have much weight on the front wheels for steering control. I have a few JD suitcase weights, I'll have to see if they will hang up front securely or if I have to find some designed for this series tractor.

Today I hope to get some time to look at the tach and figure out what is wrong there, but that is another thread.

I experienced the same thing with mine when lifting the mower quickly and entertained getting weights for the front. I even spoke to NH and they claimed the tractor itself was pretty close to a 50/50 split on the axles. If my math was right, that left me with almost 600 lbs on the front axle with the mower in the air. The NH weights would have added another 100 lbs to that (and it wasn't a cheap 100 lbs either). I never spent the money and haven't regretted it. As long as I don't jerk on the lift I don't have an issue. It's probably easier on the hydraulics that way too. I'll admit that if had a few weights hanging around that fit, I probably would have thrown them on though..
