Will a toothbar fit w/bolt-on cutting edge?

Hi Folks,

One thing I forgot to ask when I ordered my 430 FEL, 61" HD bucket is whether a toothbar can be fitted on account of the fact that I chose the bolt-on cutting edge?

I've seen a few toothbar manufacturers that make a note of saying that the toothbar can be sized to fit most any bucket, but that the cutting edge needs to be of the welded-on variety and not the bolt-on variety.

I chose the bolt-on cutting edge because it is easy to replace/remove. I ordered a 48 backhoe with this tractor, so I'm not depending on the FEL for digging, but the toothbar might be nice to have. I'm just not sure if any manuafacturer produces a toothbar that will fit over a bolt-on cutting edge. Have any of you folks run into this issue? Thanks,

Yes, you can purchase a toothbar for a bolt-on cutting edge. I have a HD toothbar for the JD HD bucket on my 4710. See picture of bucket and toothbar attached.

The name of the manufacturer for the toothbar I have is FFC (Farmer's Factory Company) in Lee, Illinois. You may want to peruse their website at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.ffcattachments.com>http://www.ffcattachments.com</A>. The EXTRA heavy-duty bar was $401 for a 6' HD JD bucket. Understand though this was special made to accomodate the bolt on cutting edge I have on my bucket. They sell other standard HD toothbars for a welded on cutting edge for $316. These are the prices I was given by my dealer.

If you can't buy from your dealer or direct through the company, you may want to contact my dealer who is KC-Canary, Fultonville, NY. Talk to Mark Brucker at 518-853-3405 and he can order for you and have it directly drop shipped to you or your dealer for install. You would have to provide exact inside measurements of your bucket. Thanks sleepyhollow. This pic was taken right after my 4710 was delivered. I took pics of everything for documentation and insurance reasons. Yep, it's a bit dirtier now but that toothbar is a tough monkey to mar up. It still has that glossy black finish just like it had when it was new. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Thank you kindly for your offer John. I've been quite busy over the summer trying to finish my barn painting project, so I haven't had much of a chance to put the 4710 to alot of work. Barn is finished now though and as soon as I get the firewood in the basement, I'll have time to knock out some of those projects on the tractor things to do list.
