I'd like to get a 6' Woods BrushBull mower (800 lb) to use behind my Yanmar CBL40. The tractor weighs ~5500 lb with the backhoe off and is 37 hp. Will this mower work with the tractor? Thanks if anyone knows. If not, I'll haul the tractor out to the dealer to try it.

It should hook up and work fine as long as you are not cutting large amounts of brush or very tall grass. If you get in to tall grass and brush you will just have to go slower. I have a 43 horse tractor and run a 6 foot bush hog brand and when you get into tall stuff it will bog down just go a little slower.
If you want to take a little easier on the tractor I would reccomend a 5ft. Just my opinion.

That's a very nice industrial TLB, the CBL40. I think you are the first owner
to post here. I have seen them, but never operated one. It is certainly
robust enough to handle a 6-footer. Any tractor can bog down if driven
too fast while taking a too-big bite. Far lighter CUTs use 6-foot RCs without
problems. I imagine that your owner's manual also tells you what size
implements you can use.

Otherwise, what other impressions do you have of the CBL40? Any problems?

In terms of weight, you're in good shape. HP, marginal in some conditions.

What is the pto hp of the tractor? I seem to remember that the pto hp on the yanmar was
25ish?

Currently using a Grand L-3130 with an old Woods RM-306 6' mower and the most critical part for me is to keep the blades sharp. It will bog down in very high grass and dull blades but 90% of the time it works just fine. Remember, this is a finish mower not a brush hog.
