John_Mc, I promise to fill out my profile soon! For now, here's the scoop. I will be South of Ashland, Oregon. That puts me near I-5 within a couple miles of the Cal-Ore border. Altitude is 3500 feet. There will be some snow every year, but some recent years have been mild. There will almost never be more than 3 feet.
I was obsessing about front mounted snow blowers, and if I can afford one it would be very nice, but the idea has been floated that maybe I need a plow instead. A plow attachment should be cheaper than a blower, so maybeI can sink a little more money into the basic tractor (with FEL) and buy a blower next year if it still seems important.
I will use a box to keep washboard from taking over the road. Wish list includes a mower (fire safety -- mowing about 300 feet all around the structures) and a post hole digger. Total budget is shaping up: 15,000 bucks.
