Will Rear Remote Drive Post Hole Digger

I'm looking at getting a hydraulic drive bucket mount PHD. Are the rear remotes on a R3644 set up to do this? The gpm requirement of PHD is 5 to 12 gpm. The R3644 is rated at, 8 gpm.
When moving the remote levers forwards or backwards they spriing back to center postition. Would I have to hold the lever forward to make the PHD operate or do they behave differently under opperation? I have not used the rear remotes yet on any implements.

There was a person a while back that had New Holland compact tractor I believe it was a tc40 that had mounted a hydraulic drive bucket PHD and ran it off his rear hydraulics. Search for the thread and maybe you will get a little more info.
I would think it would work fine as long it is rated within your gpm, but like you said you will have to hold the lever. I would rig up some kind of bungie or something to keep it going so it would be easier to operate the down pressure on the loader.

It should work fine. I would think having a self-centering valve would be preferable as if it was necessary to stop the PHD, all one would have to do is release the lever.

I think I would ask this same question over in the hydraulics section. Not sure about the R Series but on my 3040 it seems that there is some priority for the hydraulics. Like when I am lifting my three point if I raise the FEL the three point stops lifting.

I agree with RickB. Your flow is in the mid-range of the PHD hydraulic motor. It would work better with 12 gpm, but you will do okay with 8 gpm. I think I would use 1/2" hose from the remote to the PHD instead of 3/8" to ensure the most flow. What I'm guessing is the issue with the remote is that you want to be able to use the joystick for the FEL and the remote at the same time. If you can't use both hands at the same time (one on the joystick and the other on the remote) then I would use a bungee to hold the remote. I'd make sure the bungee had enough slack that I could reach down and easily pull the remote handle back to neutral for quickly stopping the PHD. The nice thing is that you don't need a third hand to steer because your tractor will hopefully be very still while the auger is digging your hole.

Mounted PHD today and it works! I'm able to rotate in both directions.
Dug a 12" test hole with no problems. Thanks guys for all the input.
