Will Roundup kill moss?

Wife wants to kill some grass and weeds but does NOT want to kill the moss growing next to it.

so the question is, is there something you can spray to kill grass, weeds that will NOT kill the moss growing nearby...(and she just added not kill "monkey grass")

Right as I was preparing to say "nothing that I know of but I'll put it to the experts", SHE beat me to it and said "why don't you ask your tractor buddies".

Ok guys...

I imagine there's a ton of different kinds of mosses. The moss growing next to a section of my driveway is not phased by RoundUp.

When I spray for weeds, I used to spray carefully where the moss was. Over time, I noticed that the edges were not affected by the spray. Now I just spray with no regard to the moss.

I'd try a corner and check it 2-4 weeks later.

I've tried to kill moss with roundup. Even mixed it "extra hot" and got "ZERO" results.

Roundup works by working its way to the root through the leaf. I don't believe moss has leaves, so I don't think you'll have a problem spraying the grass/weeds and moss. The grass and weeds should die, and the moss should remain unharmed.

You could try a test area first, and after 10 days you should be able to determine the results.

Roundup is interesting stuff. I had a strawberry bed that got so full of fescue I decided to just zap the whole thing and start over. I sprayed it with Roundup 2-3 times over a couple of weeks and that pretty much killed everything...I thought. The first thing that came back in that area was a few strawberries. On the other hand, I bet it would do a number on Monkey grass.

Roundup kills existing plants, not the seeds currently in the ground. It's not a pre-emergent.

These were strawberry plants. Now, perhaps they were "dormant" during my spraying, but they weren't from seeds. Perhaps strawberries are one of the plants glyphosphate is less effective on.
