win 10 / edge browser not working with centurylink webmail ??

At work we use centurylink, and email is via webmail.

Win 10 just installed, along with it edge.

For email on centurylink, when you log in, it's either advanced ( ajax ) or standard ( html )

Noticed this morning when I got in.. No one could reply to email. You could open an email, hit reply.. but not type!

After dinking for 20 minutes with preferences in centurylink, and advanced settings in edge, I went to the html login which eats up more screen space and is a little slower.. but it is working.

anyone else seen problems with webmail on edge?

If the webpage is using any ActiveX controls it won't work. Edge no longer supports that. Microsoft is trying to get away from them because of security issues. So if you are going to a website that uses those, you can then just open it with Internet Explorer to get it to support the ActiveX control until they update the webpage. I've got a client that deals with several vendors and they have to use Explorer to use some of their sites. Other than that, no major issues with Edge.

Thanks, that's exactly what it is. I even notice that there is a settings tab to pull down on edge, and one of the options is to open with internet explorer.

I called and finally got thru to CL tech support.. the 'ajax' version must use active x... the standard version is html only.

Yep, don't mind Win10 too much... but I use IE as the default now. Too many things Edge just won't work with.
