I just got my warn winch back from servicing. I have hooked it up twicw before. It's pretty straight forward, blue to blue and yellow to yellow.
Before I attachd the bolts , I hooked it up and tried it, it sounded like it was "spooling".
Then I secured the bolts. When I had a helper come out to verify that it was turning all we heard was "click", "click" when I pressed the rocker switch. I undid and re- attached the contacts again but now it won' t turn? Only the clicking noise.
Help, it's snowing like mad and we need the plow to work.
Thanks!

Unless you have bad power or a bad connection to the battery somewhere it sounds like it may be a bad solenoid contact. Or maybe your service guy didn't get all the connections as tight as he should have. Think like you're troubleshooting a bad starter.

Thanks. I just spoke to the shop and they confirmed exactly what you said. Solenoid. Sadly, we are buried in 3' of snow and we use it to plow. I sure wish the shop had fixed it if they saw it wasn't working. We just paid them extra to deliver it yesterday.
Thanks for your reply.

Not sure what they repaired on the winch but apparently they didn't test it before returning it. I'd give them a call back and tell them you remounted it and it doesn't work. Unless your solenoid is separate from the winch, then you'll need to replace it.

One would think they should have fixed it. What did you pay for? Time for them to step up to the plate and make things right PDQ.
