Normally I'd time it to run out of fuel about the time the stations start offering winter blend at the pumps. However, I have a 5 gallon jug of #2 left over from this summer. I can get #1 from the local truck stop and mix my own winter blend. My only question is, what's the typical ratio for a Minnesota climate? Oh, I normally throw in a dose of Power Service for good measure.

My other option is to just keep the #2 on the shelf until sping and go pick up the pre-mixed winter blend.

I delivered fuel for Holiday Stationstores from 2001-2008-Great people! They start using additive Oct 15,Nov 15,80% #2/20% #1 with additive. All in by Dec 15-60% #2/40% #1 with additive through March 15..50/50 with additive for International Falls for instance.Never a problem for us or the customers.Blend 20-40% with additive and you're good to go!Good Luck!
