How do you remove wiper blades on a 5600 toolcat and where can you buy replacement blades?

They look like standard automotive style 24" long blades.

The trick is to get them out of the parked position. Try turning them on and hit "stop" or turn off the key, whichever you have, when they are pointed down.

I have replaced mine and they are standard wiper blades. Can find at any auto store. Just remember to measure so you buy the correct length. Don't remember what they are.

WHAT IS THE TRICK TO GETTING BLADES OFF THE ARMS? CAN'T GET MINE TO MOVE!

The ones on my "A" series are standard J-hook attachments.

The wipers on my B series units are a PIA to change out. Turn on the key and activate the wipers and turn off the key when the wipers are pointing down half way thru the cycle. Take a small standard screw driver and insert at the J hook clip mechanism. They do not come off easily and at one point you will need to hold the arm away from the windshield and manipulate the wiper arm and to release. I'm not being very articulate but I think you get the drift. The first time I attempt to replace them I felt like an idiot that had never held a wrench before. If memory serves they are 24 inches on the B series.

I have never seen a D Series up close and personal, but I know there are several types of blade holders.

You could search YouTube for "How to change a wiper blade".

Here are some of the different types.

Just for thrills I ran down to the shop to see what sort of setup my "D" has and it's the "Hook Arm". As Timm9 suggests, get the wiper arm pointed down so that you can hinge the wiper arm away from the glass rather than have it hit one of the lights. Then as in Picture #2 in Xfaxman's post, rotate the wiper so it's basically perpendicular to the arm. The release tab that needs to be pressed in with a small blade screwdriver should be readily apparent. You'll need to take the little screwdriver and fiddle/cuss/etc with the little tab until the wiper blade easily releases. Took about 30 seconds but I'm an experienced fiddler/cusser/etc'er when it comes to my Toolcat. YMMV.
