I want to add rear lights to my 990. At the rear of the tractor on each side under the ROPS there is a wire with a T-bar connector. It looks like a letter T. They apparently left these connectors open for something (maybe rear lights?) Could someone enlighten me on this?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think those wires are in fact for rear work lights. I didn't use them when I added my lights, for 2 reasons:
1. I didn't know what wattage lights they would be good for. The wires look a little thin for 50 watt lights to me. I suspect the factory lights are 20 or 30 watts.

2. I think those wires are switched on with the headlights and I wanted the rear lights to be separately controlled.

If you haven't seen it, I have a thread "Lights on a 990" in the customization section. You can see how I added my own fuse and wires for lights. It wasn't very hard to do, gives you separate switches if you want, and avoids any worries about power limitations in the factory wiring and fusing.

I did get the factory rear work light. It can be mounted on either side in the back. The wire attached to the light is quite short, so there is an connection on each side of the tractor.

I, too, would like to put extra lights on. If you've got a loader it seems to eclipse the regular headlights too much.

Thanks, guys, for the informative stuff on the lights. I will ponder on this and make my move soon.
