Hi Guys
i was wondering if anyone else was having issues with their snowblowers. Mine blows just fine but I cannot operate the chute. It barely goes up and down (5 minutes to cycle from up to down positon. ) That must mean it is at least getting some sort of a signal from the machine. The chute rotation only works once in a blue moon and only when I have hooked and unhooked the electrical connection repeatedly. All the connections are coated in dielectric grease to keep out water and salt.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks dylan

Dylan,
If you haven't done so already, take apart the connectors on the snow blower itself down by the valve block and make surethey are not corroded and use your D grease on them too.

Thanks, I went out and checked those 4 connections this morning. They look nice and clean. (they should, the blower has only been used once) but I greased them anyway. no improvement.
Back to the dealer on monday.
Thanks dylan

frustrating when a new piece of equipment malfunctions.

how did you wire your back-drag? I assume you are using a hydraulic line from the valve block. did you have to run electric control through the blower?did the chute work normally since that install?

good luck

It's funny but the only thing that works on the blower is my backdrag!

I wired it seperately from the rest of the controls to its own switch in the cab.

It has its own electric solenoid mounted on the blower and another quick electrical connection mounted on the loader boom. It just robs the flow from the main line and does not disturb the valve block.

I'm off to the dealer this morning.

Cheers dylan

Three days later and the problem "fixed" itself. The dealer could not find anything wrong with the wires but they just suddenly started working again. I hope that problem does not mysteriously crop up again.

cheers dylan
