Canopy Wiring Canopy Lights on B7800

Need a little help. Getting ready for the miserable season and thought i'd add some LEDs to my machine. I found 2 wires under the seat taped to a split electrical cover. One has a bullet push in connector and one (black) has a ring connector. When i put a test light on the wires with the positive in the female bullet and the neg. on the ring i get power when the machine is on. i would have though it was controlled with the lights, but that would have been too easy. It seems to me that the ring connector is ground somewhere and the bullet is hot to the ignition. So, question is this. When wiring the lights do i just cut the ring connector off and connect it to the neg. of the lights and then put a switch on the hot wire to operate the lights? Do I need an inline fuse or is the fuse in the fuse box enough (i assume its the one labeled 'work light'. all help appreciated. thanks

I used these wires on a similar tractor and not the B7800 exactly but I found these wires to be for the rear mounted Kubota work light that has a switch built into it. To make it work for canopy lights you would need a switch somewhere in line or they would be on all the time. You wouldn't need an extra fuse but just for chuckles I put one in mine.
