I know it may just be the challenge of doing it and I don't want to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but it seems that If the only reason you want to run the hyd pump with an engine is to maintain rpm's to blow snow further, It'd be a lot simpler and cheaper to use a pto hyd pump and just gear down when the snow gets deep??
