I have an old Wisconsin S7D engine on my wood splitter that came off of a Bolens lawn tractor. I need to know what the carb adjustments should be and where they are. If anyone can help it would be great or if anyone has a manual for this engine I could get some scans from. Thanks

IF this engine is old and is the adjustable type carb., the main jet should be on the botom of the carb. right in the middle of the float bowl. Turn it in till it bottoms out. do not force it tight just snug. then back out 1 round. do the same with the air mixture screw. it should be on the side of the carb. or maybe towards the top. there is poss. another screw on the top, that should be your idle screw. move your throttle linkage and watch it at the carb. your throttle linkage should be bumping against this one. no need to mess with this one, should be ok as is, if not already moved by someone. these settings maybe close enuff to get it started and then you will adjust the main jet out 1/4 turn at a time, with the engine running, if it sounds like it needs more gas to run. if you turn it too far it should start flooding the engine and you should see it puffing black smoke turn back in till it runs at the best setting. do the same with the air mixture screw. hope this helps. zman :D
