6 1/2 weeks ago I had a heart attack. 3 hours later, after the stent placement, my coronary artery was finally reopened and the blood clot removed. For the last 6 weeks I have had extensive cardio-rehab to regain the lost heart function and I graduated today! I started out being out of breath walking to the mailbox to running an hour on the treadmill in rehab today. I've been cleared to do a 5K fun run in the morning, the longest run un-monitored since my heart attack. Thanks, Don

Glad to hear you made a full recovery (and pretty quick too). You must be a pretty tough guy.

Don, you left out one important detail. You were running when you had that first heart attack. You are really pushing the envelope. I'll be sending good thoughts your way, but please stop if you have any telltale chest discomfort. You are a great guy and in good shape, but you aren't indestructable. Don't you dare leave Karen to do all those pavers by herself.

Jim I'm approaching the run very cautiously and didn't entirely think I would do it till today after I simulated it on the treadmill three times this week while being closely monitored in rehab. No PVCs and no discomfort. I'm running farther & faster and my heart rate is decreasing as it is conditioning. My diet is no-fat plant based. Cholesterol this week LDL(bad cholesterol) is 56 well below the less than 70 the cardiologist mandated. (total cholesterol was 119)

Awesome! I can't believe you even had ANY heart problems with cholesterol levels that low.

Am I enjoying blind faith for now with my aspirin/niacin regiment?
