As non-tractor owner living vicariously through TBNers, i am having PT withdrawal. Please post some weekend projects and what you did with you respectively sized PT's.

Very, very slow day at work.

I, too am suffering withdrawal. I have a nephew mowing pastures with my PT 1845. He's not only having fun, but I'm paying him for it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have heard TBNer tales of the lone 1845er, driving through clouds of billowing grass, closely followed by two pull behind mowers...

Maybe if your not driving, you could post a couple of picks of the setup /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Alas, only one wing mower. Bubenberg has two sometimes behind his 425. My nephew isn't yet checked out with the Acrease, so pictures will be a while. Sorry.

I mowed my lawn Sunday, if that is any consolation. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Average height of grass=8". I live on 1.19 acres. I believe the lawn totals just under 1 acre. I went slow to maximize pleasure and minimize windrowing. It took all of about 35 minutes, and then it was over /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I took some pictures of a tape measure in the lawn before and after. Would you like to see them?

Broke the lift arm pivot so had to send the entire lift arms to Tazewell for repair. UPS sais it would take 8 days to get there from Montana. You talk about withdrawals, having them big time.
Projects that I am working on prior to this break are as follows:
-new tractor/garden shed being built
-lava rock placement
-ornamental grasses on one acre
This was just last week with more projects waiting.

Yeah, i would like to see the pics. If you ever get a chance i would also be curious to see what kind of job your rough-cut mower does on turf???

I've never tried the brush hog on turf. I'll let a patch grow up behind the garden and give it a try in a couple of weeks. And, of course, I'll take pictures. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'll post the pictures of the tape measure in the grass over the weekend, as my daughter has a late softball game tonight.

I have a PT-180 with a 45" brush cutter and it works so well I no longer plan on getting a finishing mower. I lowered the deck to the lowest settings.

One problem I had with the brush cutter was the grass would get thrown between the front left wheel and the inside valve stem was torn off three times by the buildup. I bought a stem plug at a local hardware store for 24 cents and have had no problems since.
