I received a Massey Ferguson sickle bar mower ,but it seems to be a little to wide for my Yanmar 1610 D.Would it be possible to put on new lift bars that were maybe 6 inches longer?Or any other suggestions would be welcome. The thing that rides under the left side lift arm scrapes my rear tire. What if I shortened the anti sway chains? They still have slack in them even though they are as tight as they go.

Somebody put longer arms on mine along with the oversize tires. That should work fine.

Have you tried turning the mower's pins to the inside? That works on a lot of mowers. You can also swap the rear wheels to gain a little extra width if that has not already been done. We also have some offset arms that might help some. They reach out around the rear tires -

Thanks Aaron, the pins are to the inside already and the tires are as wide as they go ,so I will probably have to go with the new lift arms.
