3-Point Hitch wont stay up

I own a farm pro 2420 and I am having a problem with the 3 point hitch when the implment is on a 2 bottom plow the hitch raises but wont stay up And Iam new to this so any information would sure help because Iam sure I dont know what the problem is because the hitch was wowrking just fine a few weeks ago but the raise and lower bar broke and I had to put in a new hitch pin is the little hole buy the seat but made no adjustments to the bar itself so thank you for any information you can feed me,

Most common reason is bypass. There's an O-ring and a wiper or two inside the lift box. Problem with the design on that series tractor is there's an ineffective mechanical cylinder stop. If the rear arms are raised to high for any reason, the ram can come out of the cylinder far enough to expose the O-ring and wiper(s). When the arms are lowered, the seal and wipers are damaged as they're pulled back inside the cylinder. Not a terribly difficult or expensive repair, just messy.

That said, you should also check closely to rule out a leak in the valve that the lift lever is attached to.

I sounds like a bad O-ring on the 3-point piston, we have a rebuild kit for it.You will have to remove the 3-point piston to replace the O-rings, it's not a hard job.If you need some help with it just give us a call 979-865-4002

I sounds like a bad O-ring on the 3-point piston, we have a rebuild kit for it.You will have to remove the 3-point piston to replace the O-rings, it's not a hard job.If you need some help with it just give us a call 979-865-4002

Thanks tommy I have the kit it came with the tractor I just dont know how to remove the 3 point piston do I need to take the back off or the whole upper casing of the lift any help will do

The back cover where the top link hooks too will need to be removed, also the cover in the front that has the adjusting cap on in, down from the center of the seat.You only need to remove the piston ot the sleeve.You also have to drain all the hydraulic fluid out first
