Hello everyone, I was wondering if you need rear remote h. vavles to run a wood spliter, or do they vary. I'm in the process of getting a approx. 30hp tractor and wondered if I could every find the use for extra remotes. Thanks, Griz
If your getting an FEL then you can just use that for your splitter. The remotes were very expensive to add to my tractor so I just use the ones for the FEL.

Kubota's remotes are the most expensive to add that I have found. Most are around $200-300.
Some logsplitters use the tractor hydraulics (like TSC's), either the remote or the FEL connectors and are $550-575. Another I saw has a PTO pump, but it cost as much as a better self-contained unit.
The rears will come in handy for a hydraulic top link (which I am thinking about adding this year) or a tilt cylinder. I am sure there are other uses.....
