Wood splitter direct?

It looks all right however for the extra cost I really think that the split-fire is the one to buy. I really like mine. The two way splitting is very nice.

I don't like running my tractors and racking up hours just for a splitter. Not to mention the fuel usage and SLOW operation.

I run a Super Split and love it!

Yes, I bought one from them last year. They shipped really fast and I'm totally satisfied with the splitter. In my case, I got the next larger model. I split a couple of 16 foot trailer loads of wood with mine and it's sitting there waiting for me to start using it again this year. I'm just waiting for it to cool down some, it's still in the upper 80s to low 90s here.

I ordered the 12T version on Monday of last week, it arrived Friday of the same week. Used over the weekend. I split maybe 1/2 cord thus far. It ships with 42" lines on it. The lines have 1/2" NPT Male connectors. To these I added 5', 1/2" hoses to get to my front end loader ports. I put 90 degree elbows on the loader port end of the hose with 1/4" quick connects. If you're not familiar with buying hydraulic lines, they aren’t exactly cheap. I have over $200 in mine.

My wood is mostly maple, with some cherry, beech, oak, and others. Only on some of the oak did I need to run the ram to its full length. The control valve is nice in that, if you release the valve the ram stops., you can put in return mode and it will go all the way in. basically I would watch the ram out of the corner of my eye and stop it whereabouts I needed it for the next piece. So since I rarely need to run it all the way out, the two-way split didn’t mean much to me.

I ran the tractor at 2000 RPMS, probably could of run less, still experimenting. Only on two of the larger pieces of oak, did I need to run the rpms up.

I looked at the one at TSC. It is a beast compared to the Ramsplitter. I choose the RamSpl;itter becasue I wanted the 3.5" cylinder. I felt this was more in line with my BX. Otherwise I would've probbaly chosen the TSC unit.

In all, I am very pleased with the unit. I was working alone, and only a few times did I have to wait. Usually cause I left the ram go back the whole way, or on some of that stringy oak, I had to run it the whole way out.

I have had this 3Pt unit for 8 years - used to be ramsplitter - I added legs and a tripod leg, 4" cylinder and 4 way head use this on the front of my B21 with 15' lines connecting to the BH ports.

I lift and cut about a 1/2 cord using the BH then swap the lines in 2 minutes and split. The 4 way wedge doesnt split above 8-10" diameter. I run the tractor at 12-1400 RPM and the return time is just enough to get another log.
