Im looking to buy a new wood splitter. Wondering if anyone can tell me where to look for the best machine and price. I want 4-way splitting and a good engine. Thanks

Definitely get one that can be operated in the vertical position. It is much easier to handle larger logs this way. I've tried both positions, and now operate mine exclusively in the vertical position. I sit on a low stool creeper (about 15" high) when running it, and can do so for hours with no discomfort.

Thanks Jas. I have a MTD splitter now, that can split in the verticle position and I love that feature. Sure handy when ya get those real Big blocks ;) I've had this splitter for about 15 years... still works good but I'm thinking of selling it and buying a better one.
