To any Woods experts:

I have a new Woods 1009 FEL with a skid steer style QA bucket.

I notice that the leading edge of the bucket has a row of empty holes. Is this for a cutting edge and/or perhaps toothbar? Does one source these from woods or aftermarket vendors?

I don't see this exact loader and QA setup on the Woods site so am having trouble determining what I can add to this 66" bucket.

Hopefully I can figure this out before I bend the bucket during the 'tuition phase' of ownership...

Thanks

Dave most buckets are drilled for a reversible cutting edge that also strengthens the leading edge of the bucket when it's in place.

I use mine in the winter and replace it with the tooth-bar for warm weather duties. I actually think a tooth-bar has more use than a reversible cutting edge but that's just my personal opinion.

Thanks Mike,
I was looking at sites regarding a tooth bar and noticed that one (Markham I believe) mentioned they were designed for welded cutting edges.

A Neubie question here...

Will my bucket (with these holes), be appropriate for Markham or should I seek a toothbar from Woods?

Thanks..

Dave I think what they are trying to tell you is that that particular tooth-bar will fit over a cutting edge.

Mine will not so I need to alternate one or the other.

All the tooth-bars that I have ever seen mount with 2 bolts. One on each side of the bucket drilled through the end plates (vertical section) of the bucket.

I have never seen any that bolted to the same holes in the leading edge as the cutting edge. Might be made I just don't know.......

Thanks Mike,
I asked a friend to come by and he identified the welded cutting edge and explained the holes in the side of the bucket were for the toothbar.
Thanks
David
